Olympian Turned Call-Girl Tells All

American track and field superstar Suzy Favor Hamilton has released her autobiography Fast Girl – A Life Spent Running from Madness this week.

In it she describes how she went from celebrating her 20th wedding anniversary with a threesome to being an AUS $800 an hour escort in six months.

Favor Hamilton, now 47, tells how she “devoted myself to sex (and) my need to be unsurpassed in the bedroom …” and how it “replaced the need to be best on the track.”

Favor Hamilton explains that sex was the avenue through which her bipolar disorder manifested itself.

It effectively bought about the end of her athletics career once the media got hold of the facts. She was vilified in the press, her sporting achievements all but overshadowed – even though she represented the US at three Olympic Games.

“I still crave that high,” Hamilton says about the risky-sex that fuelled her mania.

Hamilton says her pre-finish collapse at the Sydney 2000 Olympics began the downward spiral that would finish with her feeling suicidal.

She found a way out through thrill-seeking behaviour and self-medicating.

Her double life was exposed by a reporter from the website The Smoking Gun; which exists to bring to light factual but outrageous stories of public interest.

But upon the birth of her daughter and a course of prescription antidepressants when remembers “suddenly having more energy than I could remember (ever) having. I wanted ot live like I had never lived before.”

Hamilton became a real estate agent, a motivational speaker, and high class hooker.

She became one of the most sought after call girls in Las Vegas and loved every minute of it.

Club Revolt in NRL Gives Ultimatum to CEO Smith

Image: www.youtube.com

NRL CEO Dave Smith has been given an ultimatum: Either you go or we do.

The threat comes from some of the most powerful figures in rugby league –  frustrated with the changes and inconsistencies implemented by Smith in his year at the helm.

Last week’s TV rights negotiations saw Fox Sports and Telstra effectively snubbed from the deal. This caused much heated discussion and finger pointing among club presidents towards Smith and Australian Rugby League Commission Chairman John Grant.

In response, 12 clubs are considering breaking away from the NRL in 2017 when their contracts expire.

The new 12 club league would leave out those clubs currently being supported by the NRL: Wests tigers, St George Illawarra, Newcastle, and the perennially embattled Gold Coast.

The influential figures were incensed when Fox Sports and Telstra were omitted from the TV right negotiations.

This fury was only multiplied when News Corp then partnered with the Seven Network to inject $2.5 billion into AFL through a revised television deal – money that could have gone to them.

These blunders are, however, just the latest in a long list of complaints against Smith: Inconsistent judiciary rulings, the insipid and unclear changes made to the shoulder charge rule, and the multi-million dollar blowout of executive salaries for certain staff employed by Smith have incurred ire at every turn.

The game’s powerbrokers, it seems, have finally had enough.

Former Ravens Cheerleader Sentenced After Raping Teenager

Former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck has been sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty to raping a 15 year-old boy while at a vacation rental home in Delaware.

Shattuck, now 48 years-old, fell to her knees sobbing at the sentence. She was given a wholly suspended prison sentence of 15 years, ordered to report every second weekend to a probation centre in Delaware, was registered as a sex offender, and must continue therapy.

The parents of the then teenaged boy had urged the judge to send Shattuck to prison as a warning to other potential paedophiles.

“At the end of the day, there’s nothing we can do to take this pain away from him,” his father told The Associated Press.

Shattuck pled guilty to one count of fourth-degree rape. The plea came only days before her scheduled trial on two other counts of third-degree rape, four counts of unlawful sexual contact, and three counts of providing alcohol to minors.

The young boy (a classmate of one of Shattuck’s children at the McDonogh School in Owing Mills, Maryland) told police that last September Shattuck began an inappropriate relationship with him near Baltimore. He alleged the relationship culminated in sexual activity at a vacation rental home in Bethany Beach over the Labour Day weekend.

The indictment against Shattuck alleged she provided alcohol to three boys under the legal drinking age on August 30 and 31 last year and that she had sexual contact with one of the boys on August 31.

Shattuck apologised to the teen, who was not in court, on Friday, and to his parents.

“I take full responsibility for what I did. I never, ever, ever intended, obviously, to hurt anybody. I will spend the rest of my life making this right.”

Shattuck’s lawyer told the court how his client had been publicly humiliated by the press coverage. He stressed that Shattuck was a “… caring, empathetic, good and decent person.”

Prosecutor John Donahue, however, disagreed, “This was not a momentary lapse in judgement. She (Shattuck) groomed him, seduced him, supplied him with alcohol, (and) then took advantage of him, all for her own gratification.”

Karmichael Hunt to Face Cross-Examination

Image: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Cocaine#mediaviewer/File:Cocaine3.jpg

Lawyers for the ex-footballer at the centre of the cocaine scandal have made an application to cross-examine Karmichael Hunt.

Chris Hannay said on Saturday: “We will be making an application to cross-examine witnesses and Karmichael Hunt has provided a witness statement.

“We’re looking forward to getting on with it because this has been a very stressful time for John and his family.”

Hunt was one of the first sporting stars named in a Crime and Corruption Commission investigation into a multimillion-dollar cocaine trafficking network.

In February Hunt sensationally rolled over and implicated other NRL and Gold Coast Suns in the scandal. His witness statement and guilty plea came in exchange for lesser charges; but sent shockwaves through the NRL Titans and AFL Gold Coast Suns.

Hunt’s witness statement also formed the centrepiece of the prosecution’s case against Tourma.

The Gold Coast Titans will see seven past and present players face court in October.

All seven have entered a plea of not guilty to supplying cocaine. They are accused of having done so at a player’s buck’s party and a Mad Monday booze cruise.

Beauty Queen a Nazi Sympathiser

Russian beauty queen Olga Kuzkova has been stripped of her Miss Russia Premier League beauty title after pictures of her supporting Nazism surfaced on social media.

The competition consists of each of Russia’s 16 football teams selecting a beauty to represent them. Ms Kizkova took out the title of Miss Charming.

But controversy erupted soon after when pictures of Kuzkova, dressed in a maid’s outfit with a swastika armband and a message supporting the incineration of Jews, surfaced on Vkontakte, a Russian social media platform.

The Moscow Times reported, “In one picture, Kuzkova gazes into the camera, her right hand extended in a Nazi salute as she stands in front of a wall bearing Nazi graffiti.

“Anbother features two photos spliced together. The first shows a Cadbury bubbly bar (a popular candy bar made up of oddly sized chocolate sphere. The second shows a group of small African children, clad in dirty clothing, posing for a group shot in what appeared to be a remote village. The insinuation is that the children and the chocolate bar looks alike. Kuzkova wrote: ‘I love chocolate, but after this image I developed an … aversion.’

Kzukova’s boyfriend is shown with the numbers “14/88” tattooed on his legs – a code for ‘Heil Hitler’. The photograph of the couple has the words ‘White Love’ written beneath it.

CSKA fans created a Facebook page to pressure the organisers to strip Kuzkova of her title.

The Russian Premier league duly did so. The Executive director of the league, Sergei Cheban, said to the Russian newspaper Sport Express: “We do not tolerate manifestations of fascism, nationalism, and racism.

“It is unfortunate that it happened. However I beg (everyone) to understand the situation.”

He said Kuzkova was willing to give up her title. Doing so, she realised would limit the potential damage to the CSKA.

Reaction to Magalhaes Spitting is Nasty

Image: Twitter

The fallout from Caio Magalhaes brain-snap after his bloody loss to Josh Samman continues to gather momentum.

At The Ultimate Fighter 21 finale Samman rocked Magalhaes with a blow that had blood running from the Brazilian’s nose like a river.

Samman was then able to take his opponent to the ground, continue the barrage, and then force his opponent to submit via a rear-naked choke.

It was all one-way traffic.

But when the referee asked Magalhaes to shake hands things got nasty.

Samman is seen walking towards Magalhaes with his hand extended. Magalhaes taps his hand out of the way and spits a mouthful of blood at Samman.

To his credit, Samman merely walks away.

But not everyone has been so sportsmanlike.

The camps of both fighters are disgusted at his behaviour. And UFC boss Dana White is furious. White jealously guards the image of the UFC and such conduct does him and his sport no favours.

MMA fans around the world exploded on social media after witnessing the incident. Most of them have called for Magalhaes to be dropped from the UFC roster.

Josh Papalii Called Back Into Maroons’ Origin Squad

Image: www.youtube.com

Maroons coach Mal Meninga has opted to fight fire with fire, bringing 110kg hitman Josh Papalii back into the Queensland side.

The Maroons were outgunned by the Blues’ ferocity in game two of Origin.

New South Wales coach, Laurie Daley, modelled the strategy of game two around putting the Queenslanders off their game. To this end he unleashed hulking firebrand David Klemmer on their ranks.

Not even the most ardent Queensland fan could deny the impact Klemmer had on the game. At 2 meters tall (every inch of it mongrel), Klemmer battered the Queenslanders.

Coach Meninga needs an answer for Klemmer’s power and aggression in the deciding game three. And that answer comes in the form of wrecking-machine Josh Papalii.

Papalii was controversially dropped from Origin 12 months ago after a poor showing in game 1 at Suncorp Stadium.

But he was chosen for this year’s decider over rookie Dylan Napa because of this experience; with coach Meninga keen to give him the opportunity to redeem himself.

It is an opportunity Papalii is eager to embrace.

“I don’t want to let this Queensland jersey go,” he told reporters upon his announcement in the state squad. “I’m not coming here to play awful ever again, I’ll be leaving nothing behind.”

When asked about Klemmer, Papalii’s answer was: “I have played against Klemmer before and he wasn’t hard to miss, he’s massive. He is a good, young player, so I can’t wait to go up against him. It’s my job to come on and lift the team, just like he (Klemmer) does.”

Papalii has the ability to hurt the opposition. Last year he crash tackled Blues skipper Paul Gallen from behind. The tackle had Gallen whinging about cheap shots, but it was enough to rattle him.

The Maroons players are hoping Papalii is the antidote needed to take the Klemmer sting out of the New South Wales side. He has the ability, it just remains to be seen whether he has the nerve.

Maroons May Get Boost from Slater Departure

A breeze of optimism has blown through the Queensland Maroons side.

After losing incumbent fullback Billy Slater to a nagging shoulder injury few would have credited Queensland’s chance at victory in the third game of Origin, to be played on July 8 at Suncorp Stadium.

But many believe the Maroons will be better off without the injured Slater.

Their opinion comes through a comparison of stats between Blues’ and Maroons’ fullbacks.

Josh Dugan was consistently better than Billy Slater, in every aspect of the game. Slater’s injured shoulder needed surgery even before game one. The Blues were told to expect Slater to pass in games one and two as his shoulder would not allow him to run into the line of defence.

Slater is still the best communicator on the field, and the Maroons will miss his ability to spot a chink in the Blues armour and capitalise on it.

But what incoming fullback, Greg Inglis, lacks in strategy he more than makes up for in sheer athleticism.

Inglis is expected to outpoint Dugan in game Three every bit as much as Slater was outpointed by him in the first two. Inglis is younger, very experienced in the position, has a wealth of big-game experience, and is arguably the most valuable player in the NRL today.

But the Blues have had their own piece of good news with Josh Jackson having  his charge downgraded, allowing him to play in the Origin decider.

Matildas Upset Brazil in World Cup!

Caitlin foord image: commons.wikimedia.org

The Matildas have stunned the soccer world beating favourites Brazil to move through to the quarterfinals in the World Cup.

The Matildas scored the only goal in the game soaking up 90 minutes of relentless pressure from their more fancied rivals.

And hasn’t the media gone into overdrive.

Greg Howard from Deadspin wrote: “Holy shit. Holy shit! Brazil are out of the World Cup! Australia is through to the quarterfinals! It wasn’t supposed to go down like this. Brazil finished first in their group, while Australia finished second in the Group of Death.

“There have been a lot of upsets this World Cup, but this is the biggest one of the knockout stages, and it’s also the biggest win in Australia’s history. Brazil looked all tournament long to be one of the best sides, but of course, that doesn’t matter now.”

The Brazilians were on the attack from the opening whistle. And while the Australians never looked comfortable against Brazil, neither did they  look out of their depth..

Midfielder Caitlin Foord came in for special praise for effectively shutting down Brazilian super star, Marta.

“The five-time FIFA World Player of the Year, Marta, was largely kept in check by the Australian defense on Sunday,” wrote NBCSport’s Jeff Kassouf., “thanks in large part to speedy 20-year-old defender Caitlin Foord, playing in her second World Cup.”

It was a gutsy win by a team who wanted it more. Well done to all the girls.

Passed-Out Soccer Star’s Photo’s Go Viral

Grealish images: www.101greatgoals.com

19 year-old soccer sensation Jack Grealish has been photographed ‘paralytic’ in the gutter while on holiday in Tenerife, Spain.

The footballer has a history of trouble, with Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood already warning the young tyro of his behaviour in April.

In the previous incident Grealish was pictured inhaling nitrous oxide (Laughing Gas).

“I explained to him his behaviour can’t be tolerated by the football club,” said Sherwood at the time of the first incident. “We can’t condone that behaviour.

“It doesn’t matter how young he is, he is now in a responsible position as a professional footballer.

“He’s got to make sure it won’t happen again, he’s assuured me it won’t.”

Well it has.

In a statement about the current viral photographs Aston Villa have said, “The club is aware of the photographs of Jack Grealish currently circulating.

“We will be meeting with the player, but any action will remain an internal matter.

“There will be no further comment from the club.”
